We arrived in Stechelberg yesterday afternoon, a small town in the Lauterbrunnen Valley of Switzerland. Our hotel is a great little family run place in a quiet little valley, just north of Lauterbrunnen. It is surrounded by mountains, very peaceful and pretty. The tour members have all been in awe all day. This morning was cloudy and gray, and all the mountains were completely hidden, but by the time we had finished breakfast, the sky began to clear. I took some of our group on a gondola ride up to the Schilthorn at 10,000 feet. As if on cue, the clouds cleared as our gondola ascended the first mountain, and by the time we got to the top, we had some great views of the Jungfrau and surrounding peaks. We rode the gondola back down to Murren, then hiked down an easy half hour walk to Gimmelwald, where we caught the gondola back to Stechelberg.
